Woori Yallock Farm School
Due to the wet weather, we were restricted to mostly indoor activities today. We spent the majority of the morning in the classroom completing the theoretical aspects of the course, including the Support Ecosystem Restoration unit.
This included identifying various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Billy agreed to model this for the whole class.
We had originally planned to participate in a community revegetation project in McMahons Creek with the local Landcare group, but the weather wasn’t ideal…
Instead, we visited the Upper Yarra Dam, where the students learned about the storage and distribution of Melbourne’s water supply.
Next time… we return to the Farm School to continue with the Certificate 1 course, followed by a visit to Badger Creek Weir and Maroondah Dam.
