Year 9 Law
Year 9 Law and You students enjoyed a fantastic day out at Old Melbourne Goal. A week after visiting the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court to see real cases in action, they participated in the ‘Respect Me’ Magistrates’ Court role pay covering the important issue of sexting. Students enthusiastically embraced their roles of participants in the court, including the Magistrate, Court Clerk, Police Prosecutor, Defence lawyer, witnesses and defendant. Thanks to Belinda from the National Trust for leading this. They then enjoyed a fascinating tour of Old Melbourne Gaol to learn about the history of crime and punishment in Victoria, led by our entertaining and knowledgeable guide, Troy. It was a great day out with all our students representing the college with pride and enthusiasm!
