Woori Yallock Farm School

We delved into a variety of tasks relating to the units Support Nursery Work and Support Ecosystem Restoration. This included the removal of environmental weeds such as agapanthus and oak trees from around the poly house and shade house.
Other students also cleaned up the fallen leaves from our large oak tree and moved them to the compost bin.

Next, some students contributed to the unit Support Ecosystem Restoration by clearing the creek of oak tree leaves and used rocks to prevent erosion along the edges of the waterway, while others completed a landscaping task in our ‘dreaming circle’ area.
In the afternoon we spent some time in the classroom completing the unit Record Information About Country followed by a tour of our ‘reconciliation garden’. We discussed important events relating to the history of the first nations people and identified local indigenous landmarks.
