Woori Yallock Farm School
On the way to the Farm School, we stopped into the Olinda Botanical Gardens and visited their award-winning Chelsea Australian Garden. The students saw a variety of native plants and admired the beautiful landscape design.
We then returned to the Farm School to complete the coursework for the unit Record Information About Country. This involved identifying a range of indigenous plants and the ways they can be utilised by the local Wurundjeri people, which leads into next week’s National Reconciliation Week.
Later in the day, the students contributed to the unit Maintain the Workplace by taking part in some maintenance activities around the property, including stacking firewood, and laying fresh mulch in the chicken coup.
