Woori Yallock Farm School
We spent the day focusing on the units Work Safely and Maintain the Workplace. The students practiced skills in working safely by identifying and wearing the appropriate PPE for a range of maintenance activities and projects.
The students maintained the workplace by participating in a variety of tasks including spreading mulch, clearing paths, chopping firewood, and even doing the dishes.
The students maintained the workplace by participating in a variety of tasks including spreading mulch, clearing paths, chopping firewood, and even doing the dishes.
The students also developed skills in using a measuring tape and calculating volumes. They applied these skills by using a formula to calculate volumes of mulch and gravel, which we require at the Farm School for regular grounds maintenance jobs.
In the afternoon, the students completed continued with their maintenance tasks by stacking the firewood and completing bike servicing and repairs in preparation for next week’s bike riding excursion.
