Stage 2 of the recently completed facilities at the Mooroolbark Campus was opened by the Minister for Education, Mr Martin Dixon, on July 31, 2014. The $20 million Campus is located in Reay Road Mooroolbark and will cater for up to 800 students from Years 7 to 12.
The current enrolment is around 650, but increasing daily as the details and success of our programs and new facilities becomes more widely known.
The Campus has two distinct precinct’s which cater for the changing needs of Junior and Senior students. The VCE building offers a more adult, academic focussed environment to help maximise the results of the students. The Junior building has home rooms for all classes where they will spend over 50% of their week, going out for specialised subjects and electives.
Each year we enrol students from over 20 Primary Schools in an area ranging from Lilydale and Montrose through to Croydon, Boronia and Bayswater. Our extensive transition program builds that necessary bridge between the Primary and Secondary School.
Our Year 7 and 8 Program builds strong foundations by emphasising numeracy, literacy and embedding the use of ICT in the curriculum.
Students study a broad range of semester subjects to give them a taste of all areas before beginning to specialise in Year 9.
In Year 9 and 10 the students study 5 core subjects; Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities and Health. These are complemented by 4 electives each semester coming from the Arts, Technology and Health/PE/OE areas. All Year 10 students have access to participation in an accelerated VCE subject which will assist them to maximise their ATAR.
The Senior precinct offers a full range of VCE subjects as well as Vet and VCAL options. Over 70% of our students go on to Tertiary Studies with many of the others moving into apprenticeships through our VCAL program.
The co-curricular program includes sport, camps, performing arts and outdoor education options as well as our highly regarded instrumental music program.
